Hi Jose, vMotion is also a workload so that's why the 3 hour test is not generating Score.out.
Typically VMmark is run on a 2-host cluster, which is required to produce a VMmark score result like "1.35".
However, you can create a Score.out manually for the 3 hour test where you can look at the scores for all the other workloads that are running.
Look in the VMmark Benchmarking Guide, under "Obtain Partial Results for a Failed or Non-compliant Run".
The command you will want to run is
perl ../../tilescore.pl -t 1 -V
when it is running in active mode TurboMode the result of the score as it should be compared with the values indicating the documentation?
Results from turbo mode should not be compared to the numbers in the documentation. But for a 3 hour test, yes, you can compare the numbers in the documentation to your numbers to see if VMmark performance is in the right 'ballpark'.
In Score.out, look for "Tile_0_Ratios:" The numbers in this block should be >= 1.0.
But the values in the documentation are just an example of how VMmark might run. Your numbers will be different and cannot be directly compared. Usually, people who run VMmark run it in different environments or with different configurations, and then compare their results to each other.

CPU & Memory Hot-add still decreasing performance?
Is this still an issue? Trying to find any new information but only finding old posts about it. According to this KB vNUMA is disabled if VCPU hotplug is enabled (2040375) | VMware KB you loosing vNUMA possibilites if CPU Hot-add is enabled but correct me if I'm wrong, vNUMA is most useful with 8 vCPU or more and therefor it shouldn't be any problem with smaller VMs. And I'm guessing thats why Racksapce and other hosters allowing hot-add up to X number of vCPU.
Found some info from Denneman, yellowbricks etc, but they from 2013 and back.
Does anyone have any newer information?, and is't a difference between Memory Hot-add vs, CPU Hot-add?

VM MacOS X creation problems on Fusion 7 - Help!!!
I have vmWare Fusion 7.1.3 running over MacOS Sierra 10.12.1.
I´m trying create a virtual machine with MacOS Sierra but I get an error: "No se puede crear el medio de instalación" - "Can notcreateinstallation media" (see Step 5 - Creation Error.jpg) when Fusion try access to installation media. I downloaded the MacOS Sierra from iTunnes and looks good, so I don´t know what happen.
I attach step-by-step screen capture if you are usefull (see Step 1 to Step 5 images). ¡¡¡Please, somebody can help me!!!

Fusion 7 is not supported on macOS Sierra, so you are bound to bump into some issues.

Hi,
Im working with VMWare to try and figure this out.
Still having issues, however they believe its a network issue communicating with vCenter once Glance tries to auth against vCenter.
They found that the NIC firmware and driver versions had mismatched numbers so I updated according to vendor and redeploying now.
To check:
esxcli network nic get -n vmic#
Look at your NIC Firmware and Driver versions and consult with vendor (or online documentation) to see matching numbers.
I will write back after the new deploy completes or errors out.
I dont believe that adding the Ubuntu image manually will make a difference if glance is suffering. So no point in wasting time doing this.

Active connections keep increasing + timeouts
I am connecting to the console via Vsphere client. Today something weird started happening...
While connected to the console of a VM it will stop responding for a few seconds and then a notice will show up that another active connection has started. The number keeps increasing and I can barely work within it. Any ideas?

Yes it should work on the last version. At least it worked for me.
Note that you can test the upgrade to Fusion 8.5 before purchasing.
If it works out for you then buy and assign the license to the install and the time limit will be removed (so no need to reinstall)

Re: The left-hand tree of the Configure tab page adds an extension point that contains submenus.
FYI, the reason the "Table of Content" list on the left of Manage and Configure views is only 1 level deep is for UX consistency. We don't want plug-ins to inject an arbitrary complex structure when extending Configure and Manage. If you have a lot of information to display you should organize it as best as possible within a single view and not with a long list of separate Configure or Manage entries in the left hand side. You are free to use a tree structure within your own view if it is the UX that works best for you.

The USB stack in Windows 7 only allows one 64KB URB transfer at a time. Each transfer requires a 3 message handshake, which is not a big deal when they take microseconds in the Southbridge of the CPU, but LAN latency are almost 1000 times higher. For USB 3 support, Microsoft now supports multiple outstanding URB transfers in Windows 10 which should dramatically improve the USB bridging throughput even for USB 2 devices. However, the VM needs to be Win10.

Converter failing with: The operation experienced a network error
I can't believe there is any kind of network issue because all of my VM's are working and on the network.
I am running version 6.1.1 and have tried three different ESXi servers. Two are 5.5 and one is 6.0 servers and they all fail. I have also tried this on another PC that fails.
I have also tried different VM's to import. I took one of the VM's and converted it on my PC from one drive to another drive and that works telling me the VM isn't the issue.
I found one article on the web from VMware Converter: "The operation experienced a network error" - discussing the network error issue but said it was something else that he got around.
The other strange thing it does, the progress bar gets to 50% and then speeds up to 98% and then goes back to 6% where it fails.
I have attached the log files from one of the tests.

VSAN Disk Groups - easy one..
Hello. I have a question that I suspect you all can answer easily.
When working with VSAN Disk Groups do the disk groups need to be created evenly?
For example if I have Disk Group A that contains 1 SSD and 3HDDs and I decide to create Disk Group B does it also have to have 1 SSD and 3HDDs? or could Disk Group B have say 1SSD and 5HDDs?
I am unsure if the number of HDDs contributed has to be equal for each disk group.

Client Integration plug-in not working
I have vCenter 5.5 running on Windows Server 2008R2. I am trying to access import an OVF, but when I do, it always tells me that I need to install the Client Integration Plug-in. I installed the 5.5.0 version and saw the same behavior in Chrome 54, IE 9, and Firefox 42. Here are the steps I've taken:
- Installed the 6.0.0 version (6.0.0.3279) of the integration plug-in
- Cleared all browsing data in Chrome
- Set the Browser Mode and Document Mode in IE, to IE7
- Verified that the NPAPI flag is no longer available in Chrome
What am I missing here? I really need to be able to use that integration plug-in.
